Reporting Structure  Reports to the Symphony VP of Professional Services
Location Anywhere in the USA or Canada close to a major airport
Travel
  • Approximately 80% overnight travel
  • Work at client site 3 out of 4 weeks every month
  • Work 4 days a week at the client sit (arrive Monday or Tuesday
  • morning at the client site and return home Thursday or Friday evening)
Project Duration Symphony EYC client implementations last from 6 months to 3 years

Job Purpose  

The role of the Consultant is to support customers in SEYC Product module implementation projects. This involves working in a team under the responsibility of a Project Manager and being the interface between the different customer teams and the internal teams. Consultants participate in different phases of the project (design, presentation workshops, interface mapping, data retrieval, support for test and integration phases, pilot launch and deployment of the solution). They also participate in the design of the customer need and/or the writing of functional specifications and are responsible for the quality of the deliverables they provides and their related schedule.

Main Responsibilities:  

  • Utilize excellent functional and technical knowledge in numerous SEYC product module areas
  • Involved in the design phase
    • Prepare and lead workshops to present the SEYC product module functions and understand the customer needs
    • Write design deliverables and design data retrievals and interfaces
    • Participate in the modeling of the customer needs in the SEYC product modules
    • Identify the variances and propose alternative solutions to the customer
  • Implementation / Integration phase
    • Participate in the whole implementation phase: parameterisation, batch plan configuration, functional evolution follow-up, interface development and data retrieval support, write test cases, integration test support, business acceptance test support, user training, define transfer plans, solution launches and deployment support.
  • Project leadership / management:
    • Team leadership (up to 5 people), and responsibility for the planning and follow-up of the resource tasks
    • Provide internal and customer reporting
    • Organize and lead meetings with the customer
    • Responsible for one or more aspect(s) of the project
    • A key point of contact for the customer
  • Take responsibility for the skill acquisition of Consultants and Associate Consultants
  • Work independently on their parts of the project: communicate with the customer directly
  • Make standard deliverables related to the project available to the customer
  • Organize the part of the project they are responsible for
  • Responsible for the deliverables of their parts of the project

Experience And Skill Set Requirements:

  • 3 to 8+ years’ experience with the following:
    • IT background or systems knowledge
    • Supply Chain Management and/or Retail/Wholesale knowledge
    • Problem Solving
    • Political Awareness and Flexibility
    • Design (internal or external)
    • Conflict Handling
    • Consulting (internal or external)
    • Technical competencies including advanced SQL knowledge. Oracle database knowledge a plus.
    • ERP Experience (implementing or leading) a plus

Previous experience with SCM Warehouse Management or Merchandise Management or Store/Channel Operations is a plus but not a requirement
