Job Purpose  

The Senior Pre Sales Support Representative is responsible for effectively supporting the sales of Symphony EYC software solutions licenses. They work with clients and prospects in partnership to ensure Symphony EYC’s solutions map to their existing or new business process requirements and continue to deliver and meet their needs. The role of the Senior Solutions Consultant is as a subject matter and industry expert, and a trusted advisor in the relationship with customers, helping clients identify new ways of working and then defining solutions, implementation roadmaps and the change management required.

Main Duties  

Responsibilities include:

  • Support and deliver software license sales in line with regional goals. This includes pipe-line generation activities in line with marketing and sales objectives
  • Take on and develop project leadership responsibilities on major tier 2 sales projects, coordinating the work of internal and/or external teams where appropriate to do so
  • Participate in the sales cycle, engaging in and complying with the Symphony EYC Solutions Consulting process. This includes defining solution demonstration requirements, creating and delivering product presentations, including value cases and compelling solution demonstrations, proof of concepts and conference room pilots which comprehensively and directly address business and functional requirements, and responding to RFP and RFI issued by prospective clients and Win / Loss analysis workshops
  • Capture and communicate Symphony EYC differentiators and points of difference between our solutions and competitors
  • Anticipate the future needs of users and business evolutions, and plan the modifications to be made in solutions to meet these needs
  • Have a consultative approach linked to strong problem solving capabilities. Develop added value relationships with clients and partners and be strong when interacting across all levels of the business
  • Draw up and update the services proposed by the department (method, scoping, expertise, project auditing, best practices, etc.)
  • Identify to management the resources necessary for the smooth running of sales cycles and Main Duties Continued
  • projects, make them aware of the needs of the end users and any potential conflicts, and report to them on successes and project statuses
  • Share knowledge and expertise in the department teams (coaching, staffing, capitalising on skills, team performance follow-up, training plan, annual evaluation, etc.), and to customers and partners more widely (e.g. through industry platform presentations or articles)
  • Prioritize and propose developments to the solution set that will enhance its saleability and functional completeness, maintain knowledge of the functional roadmap and design phases of projects, and provide evidence based suggestions and recommendations

Role-Specific Technical/Behavioral Competencies (Required)  

  • 5-10 years of experience in software pre-sales support and solution demonstration
  • 2-5 years Industry experience in General Retail, or associated industries such as FMCG, Leisure Food & Beverage and SCM Distribution
  • Category Management experience - assortment clustering, shelf optimization
  • SCM forecasting , replenishment and planning
  • Previous demonstration capability in software packages
  • Strong capability to master the features, functions and capabilities of the Symphony EYC product portfolio in a short period of time
  • Strong capability to master multiple products within the portfolio
  • Ability to manage and complete RFQ/RFP documentation in collaboration with colleagues
  • Strong capability to work with Sales Executives to qualify prospects in early sales engagements
  • Strong capability to craft functional business requirements definitions with prospects and detailed discovery as the basis for solution design formulation
  • Strong technical skills and ability to configure and maintain demonstration environments for packaged software solutions
  • Capability to work with Solution Architects to translate functional requirements into technical business cases and assist in developing proof of solution or concepts demonstrations for custom built software solutions
  • Agility and Flexibility in working with Offshore teams
  • Willing to be mobile for short term travels to different accounts and customer locationsacross US for Solution / Offering deployment
  • Excellent executive presence, presentation skills and interpersonal skills
  • Good skills in MS Offices Suite of products List of Key Competencies (Preferred
  • Technical competence to adapt to new releases and technology associated with the software portfolio
  • Previous experience in related software applications and integration technologies and techniques
  • Understanding of market trends and business drivers in industry verticals mentioned previously
  • Capability to present implementation and integration methodologies as part of standard solution selling presentations
  • Experience / functional knowledge on ERP / CRM / BI / SCM/Demand Forecasting and Inventory Management products or applications
  • Experience or knowledge of enterprise performance management/measurements and improvement methodologies such as six sigma, lean, etc. Experience or good understanding of productivity improvement techniques and programs

Responsibility of / Expectations from the Role  

  • Manage RFP/RFI process from receipt to return, including managing all resources required to complete the process
  • Carry out short assignments at customer locations, or remotely to conduct prospect qualification with sales executives
  • Conduct short on-site meetings and presentations to conduct software discovery and business requirements analysis
  • Assist in site and remote business analysis, process engineering and value analysis workshops
  • Liaise with Solution Architects to craft software solution designs for proof of concept building and delivery to prospects
  • Work with sales executives to identify, qualify and prepare sales strategy for targeted accounts
  • Demonstrate packaged software solutions to prospects and assist Solution Architects to present proof of concept and solution custom demonstrations
  • Liaise with Product Marketing and Product Management to assist and advise in sales enablement content and structure
  • Assist in product testing for new releases and provide feedback to Engineering/development on product defects and quality issues
  • Attend and present at events and conferences
