Job Description:
Computerized Facility Integration (CFI) is currently seeking a System Engineer to join our IBM Maximo Center of Excellence.

The System Engineer is responsible for infrastructure and database administrations in project engagements and internal maintenance activities. This role provides the leadership for successful design, implementation and support of systems-related project goals to the project team, specifically the application services development and DBA resources.

In addition, the System Engineer will:

  • Install, configure, maintain, upgrade, and support database environments for CFI’s internal and client engagements.
  • Manage all aspects of server/client installation, configuration, networking, testing, and backup.
  • Drive innovative technical solutions to meet the client’s functional requirements.
  • Understand and exhibit experience in a fairly wide range of hardware, operating system environments, peripherals, and utilities.
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational, communication and writing skills.
  • Foster excellent relationships with Clients and will help drive additional value for the client, and increase probability of additional work and contract extensions.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • May serve as two roles on projects: Database Administrator (DBA) and/or Infrastructure Expert
  • Strong background in Maximo development and/or Maximo certification is a preferred.
  • 6-8 years of a combination of DBA and infrastructure experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in Oracle (9x-11g) and/or MS SQL Server (20xx). Proficiency in Shell/Perl scripting, RMAN, import/export, hot backups, RAC, materialized view replication, standbys, and Datagaurd/Databroker.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in LAN/WAN management and desktop support. Proficiency in installation, configuration, testing and maintenance of a wide range of desktop, server, and network infrastructure.
  • Experience in high-availability solutions/clustering, advanced server provisioning technologies/techniques, disaster recovery planning, and performance tuning.
  • Develop efficient system design solutions based on existing application experience and knowledge.
  • Act as the lead and overall infrastructure designer for the system to be developed. Ensures that all client infrastructural requirements are addressed.
  • Strong understanding and command of the SDLC methodologies.
  • Strong business process knowledge, specifically pricing, availability, customer service, account management, and fulfillment.
  • Ability to engage and manage senior level client relationships.
  • Technical writing skills for proposals, RFP responses, and technical documentation.
  • Develop and conduct internal training in infrastructure and DBA topics.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS/BA in Computer Engineering or Computer Science

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Break/fix incident experience is a plus.
  • 5-10 years experience in the Integrated Workplace Management Systems (IWMS) industry
  • Provide domain expertise around a specific area of system architecture and software development with a focus on real estate and facilities management systems preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience working with web-based applications such as TRIRIGA, Archibus, and Maximo.
  • Experience or knowledge in setting up Software as a Service (SaaS) models.
