The Product Consultant (PC) is a part of the product development organization. The PC works closely with the Sales organization in positioning DS&S Products in front of potential customers. The PC must be able to present the product in an articulate manner, be knowledgeable about competing products, and be able to convincingly highlight the strengths of DS&S Products and the weaknesses of competing products. The PC must be familiar with the DS&S product portfolio, associated demos and be able to walk a customer through a demo in a convincing manner. The PC also works closely with Solution Architects within the product development organization to convey customer’s special needs, prepare tailored presentations, give tailored demos and assist Sales in moving a deal to closure.

Responsibilities

  • Talk convincingly about DS&S Products in the domains of Customer Insights, Digital Commerce, Loyalty Management and Smart Cities.
  • Engage potential customers in an intelligent and productive conversation about DS&S products, gauge customer pain points and adapt accordingly, and be able to debrief special needs to Solution Architects.
  • Deliver powerful and convincing presentations and software demonstration sessions.
  • Speak authoritatively about competing products and be able to articulate strengths, point out weaknesses in competing products and look actively for potential opportunities or threats.
  • Work with Sales to device product positioning strategies, demonstrate authoritative knowledge about the product in front of potential customers, listen carefully to feedback and pain points and react to them in a mature and well thought out manner.

Education & Experience

  • University degree. A software engineering background is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ total experience in doing pre-sales work in the domain of e-Commerce software, analytics software and loyalty management software. Knowledge of Smart Cities is a plus.
  • Must have exposure to at least one of following industry verticals in the mentioned domains: Telecomm, Banking/Financial Services or Retail.
  • Proven track record in assisting Sales in deal closures.
  • Good understanding of the software development life cycle.
  • Proven ability to articulate product roadmaps and blueprints to potential customers in a context sensitive and relevant manner.
  • US travel will be required and the ability to travel at short notice is a pre-requisite for this job. Occasional international travel may also be required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated excellence in developing powerful presentations and delivering them. Public speaking skills is a plus but not required.
  • Demonstrated skill in organizing seminars and workshops on software products is a plus but not required.
