Description

The Product Architect (PA) is a part of the product development organization. The PA is responsible for the assessment of business requirements specifications; development of product functional and non-functional requirements; and the subsequent development of the overall product architecture (to meet the business requirements) including Application Architecture, Data Architecture, Integration Architecture, Technology Architecture, and Deployment Architecture for the product. The PA will guide the product development team in the design and implementation of the product in an optimal manner leveraging existing technologies. The PA will develop near/mid-term architecture roadmaps, to address gaps and move the company towards technological growth and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Be the subject matter expert, within the scope of product architecture, in the domain of predictive and prescriptive analytics.
• Exposure to analytics in the domain of smart cities, telecomm, retail or banking is preferred.
• Develop Functional and Non-Functional specifications based on business requirements
• Architect products optimally while leveraging existing assets and open-source technologies when possible.
• Apply architectural and engineering concepts to build products that meets operational requirements such as scalability, maintainability, security, reliability, extensibility, flexibility, availability and manageability.
• Identify technologies or components to use the in the products based on price, performance, service agreements and organization constraints.
• Leads proof of concept/prototypes/pilot projects as a subject matter expert and have the ability to gain buy-in on the proposed solutions.
• Provide continuous input to management throughout the development cycle.
• Review the ongoing product development for improvement opportunities.
• Provide technical guidance to coach and mentor product engineers.
• Keep current and informed of domain related technologies and best practices.
• Serve as technical owner and point of contact for Product Functional/Non-Functional specifications and Product Architecture.

Education & Experience

• B.S or M.S. in Computer Science or Engineering
• Minimum of 8-10 years’ experience in software architecture, design and programming on a Linux and/or Windows development environment.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in CRM, ERP, Data Warehousing, ETL, Data Quality, Reports & Queries, OLAP, Customer Insights, Dashboards and Data Mining.
• Experience in the development of software products involving the use of advanced analytics in the areas of Smart Cities, Telecomm, Retail or Banking. Exposure in multiple areas is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability in architecting analytic products in the mentioned areas.
• Proven track record of delivery.
• Good understanding of SDLC, software frameworks and technologies, database tools, data modelling/management, network and security. Knowledge of both open-source and proprietary technologies are required.
• Some US/international travel maybe required.
• Excellent technical writing skills.
• Demonstrated excellence in developing application architectures, data architecture, integration architecture, technology architecture and deployment architecture for analytics-based software products.
